about

All the Things We Left Behind is a full-length ambient album that explores the themes of legacy, loss, and the problems of material possessions. The album is composed of original pieces and reimaginings of classical works, all of which are saturated with a sense of nostalgia and reflection.

The album's title refers to the physical possessions and intangible memories that we leave behind when we leave a place, a person, or when we die. The things we we pass on can be a weight on those we leave behind, or they can be repurposed and given new meaning. The album is inspired by the different ways in which we can choose to deal with the things we leave behind, and the things we have been left.

The album's music is slow and intensely atmospheric, often glacial and droning. Field recordings mix with tape loops and orchestral arrangements. At times menacing - the cold war legacy of "15728 Ready, Ready". The looping nature of the themes reflects the continued presence of the past in its legacy. The listener is invited to consider the meaning of their own possessions and the legacy they want to leave behind.

These pieces are designed to. be immersive and contemplative experiences. Allow yourself to sink slowly into the music and see where it takes you.

This is Andrew's first full-length longform ambient album since 2020's "Dirges...".
