about

Knoydart is a 35-minute long ambient piece based on field recordings made at Doune in Knoydart, Scotland in May 2022. The music is slow and wave-like, reflecting the underlying sense of peace, slow change and order in this remote and beautiful place.

The album was a year in the making. Andrew Riley-Watson is a sound artist interested in soundtracking the chaos and beauty of the natural world. This is his first major ambient release since 2020's "Dirges...".

Knoydart is a perfect album for listening to while meditating.

The album is available on Bandcamp right now, with all major streaming platforms soon to follow in the Autumn.

Field recordings mix with orchestral arrangements and ambient drones.

Think William Basinski, GAS, Aphex Twin and John Hopkins.
